Singapore Airlines has reached a flight-hour services maintenance agreement with Airbus covering the carrier’s A380 fleet.
The 10-year agreement – which the airframer describes as a “tailored” support package – covers all 19 of the type operated by the airline.
It will cover full component support, plus line and base aircraft maintenance, and fleet technical management services.
The agreement, similar to one covering Singapore’s A330s, replaces a previous component-support contract signed in 2007 for the carrier’s A380s.
Singapore Airlines will benefit from specialised knowledge from Airbus in the field of maintenance, in co-operation with the carrier’s affiliated SIA Engineering arm.
The pact is a “significant endorsement” of the airframer’s ability to provide competitive benefits, says Airbus customer services head Didier Lux.
Singapore Airlines will obtain guarantees over aircraft availability and on-time performance in the maintenance sector.
