Indonesia has completed the expansion of Batam's Hang Nadim Airport with the lengthening of its runway to 4,000m (13,120ft) and a revamping of its 80,000m2, terminal building. Despite its proximity to Singapore's Changi Airport, Indonesia wants to develop Batam as an international transit point. Further planned improvements include the addition of a second 4,000m-long runway and expansion of the airport's terminal
