Satair Group and UTC Aerospace have signed a global distribution agreement to support the latter’s small and medium customers across three of its product lines.
Signed in December but announced during the show, the aftermarket sales support and distribution agreement becomes effective in February, Mikkel Bardram, chief executive of Satair says.
UTC previously dealt with the whole market, but chose to outsource support for its smaller customers to enable it to focus on the larger airlines. The agreement covers for its electrical, environmental and engine control, and lighting systems.
“It’s normal set up for us,” Bardram says. “We are already dealing with a lot of those customers.”
Satair provides similar services for other UTC products by region, and has seen particular success in the Asia Pacific.
“We are very well positioned in Asia at the moment,” Bardram says. The company announced two years ago that it was establishing a facility in Singapore, which he adds has seen “very strong” demand since its opening.
