Singapore's next planned batch of 12 lease/purchase Lockheed Martin F-16C/D fighters will be used for pilot training, based at the US Air Force's Cannon AFB, New Mexico. The aircraft are in addition to 12 F-16C/Ds to be acquired from Lockheed Martin under a similar deal concluded earlier and which will be based at Luke AFB in Arizona from 1998.
