Information and telecommunications specialist SITA has purchased, for an undisclosed amount, the Equant Applications Services (EAS) business from internet protocol and data services organisation Equant. SITA previously owned 34% of Equant but sold its stake to France Telecom last year. The division, which will operate as SITA Advanced Travel Solutions had revenues of more than $26 million last year, providing web-based applications and e-commerce integration services to the travel and transport sectors. SITA was a major customer of EAS.
