Cessna has shipped the 50th 162 Skycatcher from its Shenyang Aircraft manufacturing site in China to its to its US reassembly facility at Yingling Aviation in Wichita.
The airframer says demand for the two-seat light sport aircraft is gathering pace and it plans to deliver 30 of the types by the end of the year and more than 150 in 2011.
The Skycatcher, announced in 2007, features the Garmin G300 avionics suite and a Teledyne Continental O200D piston engine. The $112,000 light sport aircraft has a maximum speed of 118kt (220km/h) and a maximum range of 470nm (870km).
Meanwhile, Cessna has added five flight training schools to its global network of more than 270 US Cessna pilot centres.
