Japanese carrier Skymark Airlines has joined the Boeing 737 Component Services Programme, jointly offered by the manufacturer and Air France Industries KLM Engineering and Maintenance.
Under the deal, Boeing and AFI KLM E&M will manage components inventory as well as assure timely delivery of the spare parts for the Tokyo-based airline. The programme will also help the carrier avoid warehousing and long-term inventory holding costs, said Boeing.
The programme features a customised recommended spare parts list based on customer data. The list includes dispatch-critical parts and both avionics and non-avionics line replaceable units in recommended quantities to support an airline's dispatch reliability requirements.
Currently, Skymark operates a fleet of 19 Boeing Next-Generation 737-800s and plans to acquire additional aircraft on lease in the coming months.
