The Delta Airlines/Air France led SkyTeam alliance has formed SkyTeam Cargo, claimed to be the world's largest cargo airline alliance.
The SkyTeam Cargo members - Aeromexico Cargo, Air France Cargo, Delta Air Logistics and Korean Air Cargo - will provide shippers with access to a global route network, common service options, sales and service standards, and an interfaced information technology system that aims to provide seamless cargo co-ordination and delivery throughout SkyTeam's global network. The alliance includes two of the world's top five cargo specialists (Korean Air and Air France) and has a combined fleet of 1,070 aircraft (including passenger aircraft).
SkyTeam Cargo's product line comprises four shipping options: Equation, Dimension, Cohesion and Variation. Equation is an express product for emergency shipments; Dimension is a basic, airport-to-airport cargo delivery; Cohesion offers fully customised shipping aimed at shippers who work on a just-in-time basis, while Variation will adapt to the shipping demands of particular goods.
