US regional carrier SkyWest Airlines will begin new service between Salt Lake City and both Moab and Vernal, Utah, from 2 March.
The flights will be flown by 30-seat Embraer 120 Brasilia aircraft and operate under the Delta Connection brand for Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines.
SkyWest sought a $1.42 million annual essential air service subsidy from the US Department of Transportation (DOT) for service to Vernal in July 2013. The proposed service would operate 12-times per week.
Great Lakes Aviation previously served Moab and Vernal from Denver.
