Why, you might ask, is there a bobsleigh on the VT Aerospace stand in Hall 2-C14?Apparently, it's to show that VT Aerospace is a company that thrives on team work - which will prove invaluable in the coming months because the company is a new name in the aerospace industry.

VT Aerospace is aiming to use Farnborough as a platform to launch itself into the military support services sector of the industry.

Although the name is new, the organisation has been providing support services for more than 70 years, most recently as part of Bombardier Aerospace, from which it was acquired last month by leading tri-service support services company Vosper Thornycroft (VT).

Advance

VT is already a major player in training and support activities for the UK Army and Royal Navy, but the creation of a new aerospace arm marks its full advance to tri-service status.VT's new division, formerly the wholly-owned Bombardier subsidiary Airwork, is a leading provider of aircraft and equipment maintenance, flying training and technical and logistics support services to the Royal Air Force and overseas air forces, particularly in the Middle East.

The company also sponsors the British Bobsleigh Association, which is another reason why the bobsleigh and members of the team are here at Farnborough to attract people to the stand.
