Smiths Industries Aerospace has been chosen as the supplier of Vehicle Management System Remote Input/Output (RIO) units for the Lockheed Martin Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) programme, it was announced at the show.
RIO units provide distributed, robust and flexible interfacing to a variety of aircraft sensors and effectors. The JSF RIO is derived from the RIU-100 commercial off-the-shelf products developed by Smiths Industries.
