Smiths Detection (Hall 4, A12) has been awarded a contract for the Joint Service Sensitive Equipment Decontamination (JSSED) system from the US Army Soldier and Biological Chemical Command.
JSSED is a transportable ultrasonic bath system incorporating a re-circulating solvent wash.
It is used for decontamination of small and sensitive battlefield equipment that has been exposed to chemical and biological agents.
The base contract is valued at more than $2 million.
