Avidyne has received US Federal Aviation Administration approval for software that allows the company's flat-panel flight situation display to replace the indicator for Bendix RDR-130/ 150/160 weather radars. Software to present navigation data, charts and lightning sensor information on the same display is already available. More radar interfaces will be introduced this year, says Lexington, Massachusetts-based Avidyne.
