NASA HAS TESTED a complete solar-dynamics power system, which may be used on the space station Alpha. The system used a large reflective surface, which focuses sunlight on to a receiver to heat a working gas. The resulting energy powers a turbo-alternator compressor, which provides electrical power. Radiators release the waste heat into space.
