Sonaca Montreal will supply wing panels for the ultra long-range Bombardier Global 7000 and 8000 business jets under a $20 million contract announced on 16 October.
The Belgian-owned company signed the five-year contract with the Vought Aircraft Division of Triumph Aerostructures.
Vought is building the wing assemblies for both new jets at a new facility in Red Oak, Texas.
Sonaca Montreal says production of the large aluminium panels will begin in December. The firm specialises in building large aluminium structures using a shot peen forming process, in which the shape of the part is created using the friction of small steel shot.
