The US Navy has disclosed plans to evaluate the airborne dipping sonar being developed for the Anglo-Italian EH Industries EH101 Merlin anti-submarine-warfare helicopter. US Naval Air Systems Command says that it will pursue foreign comparative testing of the UK system to evaluate its compatibility with the continuing USN airborne low-frequency-sonar programme.
