Competition South Korea is expected to launch a competition next month for the upgrade of an initial four Sikorsky UH-60 helicopters to a combat search and rescue configuration. Industry sources say Sikorsky and Israel Aircraft Industries are preparing bids to supply modification kits, to include FLIR, weather radar, rescue hoists, automatic flight control systems, new computers and potentially a glass cockpit. The kits will be installed by Korea Aerospace Industries or Korean Air Aerospace.
