Southwest Airlines plans to "cautiously resume growth plans", accelerating to the fourth quarter of this year the delivery of one Boeing 737-700 that had been set for 2003 and two set for 2004, bringing its total planned deliveries for 2002 to 23. The carrier also exercised options for further accelerated deliveries and will get 17 aircraft next year. It will use the capacity to add frequencies, mostly from Baltimore/Washington (BWI). Early next year it will begin its second transcontinental non-stop route, between BWI and San Jose, California. It began non-stops between BWI and Los Angeles in September.
