Crew members for the historic docking and joint operations, of the Space Shuttle Atlantis/STS71 with the Russian Mir 1 space station, to begin with the STS71 launch on 24 June are: (front, left to right) Vladimir Dezhurov, Robert Gibson, Anatoli Solovyov, mission commanders; and (back, left to right), Norman Thagard, Gennadi Strekalov, Gregory Harbaugh, Ellen Baker, Charles Precourt, Bonnie Dunbar and Nikolai Budarin. Dezhurov, Strekalov and Thagard, who were launched to the Mir on 14 March aboard Soyuz TM21, will return to Earth with the Atlantis. Solovyov and Budarin will be launched aboard the Atlantis, and remain aboard the Mir 1 after its departure.
