The Lockheed 1049 Super Constellation operated by Basle-based Swiss Super Constellation Flyers Association (SCFA) was a key attraction at this year’s Paris air show.
The 55-year-old propliner (HB-RSC), which is supported by watchmakers Breitling, was a star of the static display at Le Bourget and also flew most afternoons. Flightglobal took the opportunity to get on board the elegant post-war airliner for a guided tour of the flightdeck by its flight engineer and one of its pilots.

HB-RSC began life as a C-121 with the US Air Force and also spent time as a crop-sprayer. It was acquired by SCFA in 2003 and is now flown on passenger charters.
