Israel's Arrow anti-tactical ballistic missile has intercepted for the first time an air-launched target simulating a ballistic missile. The missile was launched on 14 September from the test facility at Palmachim in central Israel. The Black Sparrow target missile was launched at an altitude of 40,000ft (12,200m) from an Israeli Boeing F-15.The first Israeli Arrow battery is in operation.
