The spotlight is on spotlights at the Cegelec stand (B910) at the Dubai air show.

The Airport Division of Cegelec Projects has developed a new control and monitoring system for airfield ground lighting after a trial installation at Gatwick Airport in the UK.

Visitors to the stand can see a demonstration of the new system on a computer-generated simulation.

UK-based Cegelec has also been awarded a contract worth more than £1 million for the supply and commissioning of a ground lighting system at Ashgabat Airport in Turkmenistan.

Sales manager Steve Hall says: "Just lately we have been winning a lot of new contracts, thanks to the state-of-the-art products on display here at Dubai.

"In particular we are promoting our new airport ground light fittings for use in both taxiway and stopbar applications.

"The new low profile Cegelec ZA280 will reduce airports' costs through ease of maintenance and reduced stock-holding levels."
