Chinese low-cost carrier Spring Airlines has filed an application with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to start new Southeast Asian services from March.
The carrier plans to operate twice weekly Shanghai Pudong-Da Nang and Shanghai Pudong-Kuala Lumpur services using Airbus A320 aircraft, says the CAAC.
Innovata schedules show that Spring Airlines will compete with China Eastern Airlines’ subsidiary Shanghai Airlines on the Shanghai Pudong-Da Nang route. It will also compete with AirAsia X, China Eastern Airlines and Malaysia Airlines on the Shanghai Pudong-Kuala Lumpur route.
