Standard Aero, the world's largest independent gas turbine engine and accessory overhaul company, has won a five-year contract to repair the Swedish air force's Hamilton Sundstrand 54H60 propellers.

Speaking at the show, Standard Aero's executive director Lee Beaumont says: "The expertise we've developed in propeller repair techniques has been key to providing added value to our customers. This, combined with our strategic initiative to develop comprehensive engine, propeller and accessory support for Lockheed Martin Hercules and Orion aircraft, works to lower the direct operating costs of operators such as the Swedish air Force."

The contract with F¯rsvarets Materielverk (FMV), the defence material administration in Stockholm, covers propellers for the Swedish air force's C-130 Hercules aircraft.

Standard Aero of Winnipeg, Canada has been responsible for the repair and overhaul support of the air force's Rolls-Royce T56 engines since 1994. In January last year, the company was awarded its second five-year engine maintenance contract.
