AIR BOSNIA, THE STATE-owned Bosnian start-up carrier which plans to begin operations in April, is seeking an airline partner to help it lease in a small fleet of passenger and cargo aircraft. The airline, set up in 1994 but still awaiting the re-opening of Sarajevo's airport, says that it is also seeking private investors.

"We are a small company," says Mustafa Eminefendic, Air Bosnia's commercial manager. "We don't have plans for large airliners, but for Fokker 50s, Fokker 70/100s, or Saab 2000s, with between 50 and 100 seats," he adds. The airline is also looking for freighters with a payload of around 40t.

The airline plans to serve Frankfurt and other European destinations and, eventually, the USA and Canada in partnership with other carriers.
