Corsair is to stop flying between Paris and Dakar early next year after being instructed by Senegal's civil aviation authority to exit the route to make way for the African nation's new flag carrier.
The French carrier says it plans to end its seven flights per week between the two capital cities on 31 January 2019, after receiving a letter from the ANACIM.
Corsair adds that the civil aviation authority's request is linked to Air Senegal's plan to start operating the route 1 February.
FlightGlobal schedules data indicates that Corsair and Air France currently operate on the Paris-Dakar route.
Air Senegal began operating flights earlier this year, starting with a domestic service between Dakar and Ziguinchor on 30 April. Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that the carrier has two ATR 72-600 turboprops in service and a pair of Airbus A330neos on order.
