Finnair has entered a codeshare partnership with China Southern Airlines, the second Chinese carrier it has partnered with in recent weeks.
The airline says that the arrangement starts from 1 June, will see China Southern place its code on the Finnair-operated flights on the Helsinki-Guangzhou route, and onwards from Helsinki to European destinations like Copenhagen, Amsterdam, as well as Paris.
Finnair will add its code on China Southern-operated domestic flights from Guangzhou to destinations such as Xiamen, Changsha and Nanjing.
Cirium’s flight schedules data shows that Finnair is the only airline operating the Helsinki-Guangzhou route, flying it four times weekly with an Airbus A350-900.
The codeshare follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two carriers in December 2018.
It also comes a week after Finnair, a Oneworld alliance member, inked a codeshare agreement with Shanghai-based Juneyao Air.
China Southern is Finnair's third Chinese partner, after Juneyao and Air China.
Air China is a Star Alliance carrier, while Juneyao is a Star connecting partner.
