Lithuanian carrier GetJet has taken delivery of an Airbus A330-300, the first widebody to join the wet-lease operator's fleet.
It notes that the aircraft – "the first A330-300 in the Baltic states" – will enable operation of transatlantic flights.
Equipped with 300 seats, including 30 in business class, the jet has a market value of $70 million, GetJet estimates.
"Adding the A330 will allow us to try out new business paths," says the airline. "We are already talking with several potential clients. Should this project be deemed successful, we might consider adding several long-haul aircraft to our fleet in the future."
Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 narrowbodies make up the rest of the GetJet fleet. The operator expects to have a total of 15 aircraft by year-end.
"A fleet of 15-20 aircraft is optimal in our business," it argues.
