Qatar Airways and LATAM Airlines have expanded their codesharing agreement, now offering Qatar passengers connections throughout Brazil and other South American destinations.
Passengers will be able to connect to Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Curitiba in Brazil as well as Lima in Peru and Bogota in Colombia.
Qatar, which already has a 10% stake in LATAM, began codesharing with the Chile-based airline in 2017.
Both airlines had been part of the Oneworld alliance with American Airlines. After Delta Air Lines took a 20% stake in LATAM, the carrier announced that it was leaving the alliance.
Qatar chief executive Akbar Al Baker has previously expressed frustration at perceived ill-treatment of Qatar Airways by other partners in the alliance and warned in October 2018 that he would pull the airline out of Oneworld.
