Air France pilots have threatened a four-day strike at the end of this month over pay and conditions being imposed on new pilots hired by the airline. The strike follows three years of relatively peaceful relations, pilots having so far accepted the productivity improvements called for by Air France president Christian Blanc. Most of the trouble with the state-owned carrier has been with its domestic subsidiary, Air France Europe, the pilots of which are objecting to an overall salary reduction.
