Royal Jet, the executive jet charter company based at Abu Dhabi International airport in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is planning to add two more aircraft to its fleet of three to meet unexpected business growth since beginning operations in May.

"We have had a very successful start and are studying ways of meeting future demand," says Royal Jet chief executive Tilmann Gabriel: "We are looking into acquiring a medium-sized, mid- to long-range executive jet next year and a second Boeing Business Jet in 2005."

Owned jointly by the Abu Dhabi Department of Civil Aviation and the Amiri Flight, Royal Jet took delivery in August of its first Gulfstream G300, becoming the launch operator of the large-cabin business jet. A medical-evacuation-configured G300 was handed over last month, kick-starting the Royal Med medevac programme.
