The emergence of just two super-companies - Boeing and Airbus Industrie - building commercial aircraft presents a real danger to competitiveness, says Manfred Bischoff, chairman of Daimler-Benz Aerospace.

"We need to ensure open access to supplier markets and open access to customer markets," he says, adding that he was not referring to any specific deals.

"I'm saying there is a danger and that we have to ensure that we meet it by open competitive rules."
