Swiss Helicopter Maintenance (SHM) is to launch a jointly marketed Eurocopter sales and support package following the sale of the company to the Europavia group.

SHM was acquired last year by the group, which includes Switzerland Eurocopter dealer Europavia Suisse and Turbomeca engine service specialist Triebwerks-Unterhalts (Tuag). The group plans to launch a combined support package at the International HeliTrade exhibition in Geneva in October.

Ren‚ Kunz, SHM logistics manager, says most of the company's work originates from its previous owner, Swiss Helicopter Group, and that SHM's sales teams need to reinforce its independence in the market.

"Since we hold Level 3 service centre approval for Eurocopter, it makes sense to join our expertise with Tuag's engine specialism and Europavia Suisse's sales activities," says Kunz. "The goal is to attract international business, especially in the components field," he adds. The company aims to attract rotor overhaul customers and will launch a sales drive in German-speaking countries. SHM has bases in Berne and Lugano in Switzerland and in Liechtenstein.
