The Swiss air force has received its Ranger unmanned air vehicle (UAV) systems, and opened a new UAV training system at Emmen. The systems are made by a Swiss/Israeli consortium, including Israel Aircraft Industries' Malat arm,Oerlikon Contraves, RUAGAerospace, Tadiran Electronic Systems and Tadiran Spectralink. The Swiss purchased four systems, including four ground stations, 28 UAVs, secure communications, electro-optical payloads and automatic landing systems.
