Honeywell has signed a $100 million contract with Swissair and Virgin Atlantic to supply avionics for as many as 37 of the Airbus A340-600s the two airlines are purchasing.
The avionics chosen include weather radar with predictive wind shear detection, the Quantum line of communications and navigation equipment including the multi-mode receiver, Pegasus flight management systems (FMS), air data/inertial reference systems, solid state flight data and cockpit voice recorders, and Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning Systems (EGPWS).
