Swissair has made a slight downward adjustment to its year-end profit forecast, adding to the cautious outlook among Europe's airlines. The adjustment came after the group revealed a SFr51 million ($42.5 million) loss in the first half of the year. The result is nevertheless an improvement on the SFr86 loss of a year ago, and the airline expects to show a full-year profit of SFr150-200 million. Existing cost-cutting measures showed through with a 7% fall in unit costs, although that was offset by a 5% fall in first half yields.
