Swissair's new chief executive, Jeffrey Katz, says that the carrier is looking for more alliance partners in Asia and is considering several possibilities. Swissair already has an alliance with Singapore Airlines, including a small equity swap, but that carrier is now linked with Ansett Australia and Air New Zealand, which both have growing connections with its rival Lufthansa/United-led Star Alliance.
