Swissair is to form a subsidiary, called Swissair Asia, to operate to Taiwan in the same way that other flag-carriers have been forced to create new companies to avoid the wrath of Beijing. A single McDonnell Douglas MD-11 will bear a "Chinese expression about happiness and Switzerland", instead of the traditional white cross.
