Canadian general aviation aircraft manufacturer OMF Aircraft plans to begin deliveries of the Symphony 160 piston single in the third quarter of next year and says the collapse of its German parent, OMF GmbH, this month should not have a "significant impact" on the orderbook (Flight International, 16-22 December).

The Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada-based company was formed in April to manufacture, distribute and support OMF's light piston single line for the North American market.

It is seeking $5 million to allow its restructure as a standalone venture and says raising this amount will trigger the release of $4 million of funds secured through an arrangement with the Quebec government.

The company has orders for 21 160s and 23 options on its two new light-aircraft programmes - the two-seat 135D diesel-powered version and the four-seat 250 - development of which has been delayed by at least six months, says OMF vice-president Bill Sprague.
