The latest in modelling and interactive technology is on show at EADS stand (C206) where a scale Eurofighter Typhoon model with all moveable parts is linked up to a visual display of a real fighter on a flight above Berlin.

Typhoon Model

Original information from the aircraft black box and video footage of the Typhoon in flight have been used to enable visitors to watch a video display of the flight with synchronised movement of the active parts of the model.
This is the first time that the interactive model, made by Space Models, has been shown at a major air show.
All the flight control surfaces on the aircraft are moveable including the canard, rudder, after-burner and even the air brake.
For those who are not familiar with the parts of Europe’s premier fighter, the push of a button activates a light on any component of the aircraft.
Taking the show a step further, a 3D headset and interactive glove let visitors feel as if they are sitting in the cockpit of the jet as it manoeuvres over Berlin. The system responds to individual head movements so that the view of the landscape below changes relative to the head position of the person wearing the headset. Putting on the glove allows the guest to virtually touch cockpit controls.
Satellite images have also been used to input the Dubai landscape so that visitors have the opportunity of enjoying a virtual flight above Dubai.
