UK manufacturer Acro Aircraft Seating is in the process of preparing production at a new Chinese facility.
The company – which was acquired by Chinese automotive seat supplier ZTC in 2017 – established a facility in Shanghai in 2018 in order to cater for Asian customers.
Chief executive Chris Leese-Wood states: "The Shanghai facility will be initiated under existing Acro regulatory approvals, with the intention of firstly servicing Asia’s retrofit market and with line-fit programmes to follow later."
Acro specialises in the supply of standard and premium-economy seats.
Earlier this year, Gatwick-based Acro disclosed that Chinese carrier Spring Airlines had selected its 3ST+ seat for line-fit installation on 45 Airbus A320s and 15 A321s.
Another unnamed Chinese carrier has also ordered the manufacturer's Series 6 economy seat, Acro says.
