Airbus chief financial officer Harald Wilhelm is to step down from his position next year, when chief executive Tom Enders is due to leave his post.
The airframer says that Wilhelm is leaving "in agreement with the board of directors".
Airbus board chairman Denis Ranque says that Wilhelm has made a "strong contribution" to the company's performance.
He adds that the company is to commence a search for a successor, although he has not identified any potential candidates.
Airbus says Wilhelm has served as chief financial officer of Airbus's commercial aircraft division for 10 years, and group chief for six.
Wilhelm says that 2019 will be the "right time" for him to move on, and that he will work with management to ensure a "smooth transition" for the role.
He is one of several long-standing senior Airbus managers to have stepped down in recent months.
Enders is set to retire in spring next year. Airbus commercial aircraft president Fabrice Bregier has already left his post along with chief operating officer for customers John Leahy.
