Airbus has confirmed that its UK president, Paul Kahn, is stepping down from the post.
It has not named a direct replacement for the position, but has appointed Katherine Bennett as senior vice-president of Airbus in the UK.
Kahn is leaving his role to "pursue new opportunities", says the airframer. He was appointed in 2014, and was a vociferous opponent of the UK's exit from the European Union – warning that Airbus would rethink its UK investment strategy if its economy suffered as a result.
It states that the changes are part of a continuing corporate restructuring – which it has branded 'Project Gemini' – as Airbus brings its commercial aircraft activities closer to its other product portfolio.
Bennett has been managing public and government affairs for the company in the UK for several years.
Airbus chief Tom Enders says she has built "support and understanding" of the company within the government and the ranks of other stakeholders.
