Etihad Airways is to upgrade its Bluebox Ai-equipped Apple iPads to include Bluebox aIFE, the manufacturer's IFE platform for visually-impaired passengers.
Bluebox will shortly update the airline's iPads, allowing visually-impaired passengers to enjoy the same IFE content as is provided to other passengers via the seatback IFE.
The customised user interface of aIFE builds upon the advanced accessibility features of Apple's iOS platform, with additional IFE-specific capabilities. Cabin crew can switch between the standard IFE mode (Bluebox Ai) and accessibility mode (Bluebox aIFE) depending on a passenger's needs.
