Sekisui SPI is at AIX 2019 to launch a new member of its KYDEX family of thermoformable polycarbonate sheeting, FST.
The sheeting is offered in "not typically available" custom colours and expands Sekisui SPI's product range to cover "every interior application", says the comapny.
Aviation market business manager Ben Smalley says KYDEX FST is a fully compliant material that lets designers "realise multifaceted, layered designs with low minimums and custom colour". FST comes in opaque, pearlescent and tinted colour or translucent sheets, opening up design possibilities for backlit features.
Sekisui SPI is part of the $11 billion Japanese corporation Sekisui Chemical and serves customers in 34 countries across the aviation, transportation, medical, agricultural equipment and industrial equipment industries. In addition to KYDEX, Sekisui makes ALLEN thermoplastics.
