Israeli flag-carrier El Al aims to complete a reconfiguration of its Boeing 737-800 fleet in 2019 as part of its rethink of European services.
El Al is scrapping its low-fare brand Up, and Up's five destinations – Larnaca, Kiev, Budapest, Prague and Berlin – will be absorbed into a new European product.
As part of the overhaul El Al says it will reconfigure the 737 fleet serving its European destinations, with economy seats replaced by slim seats.
Business-class seats will be replaced and a USB port will be fitted to seats in all classes. El Al's 737s will also feature a wi-fi service on board.
The product change will include three different economy fares – branded 'Classic', 'Flex' and 'Light' – offering different levels of flexibility.
El Al says the first flights offering the new service will commence on 15 October.
