Gogo Business Aviation's 2Ku satellite-based in-flight connectivity solution will be installed on an Airbus ACJ319neo for the first time this summer.
Fokker Techniek will carry out the installation at its Woensdrecht facility in the Netherlands on behalf of K5 Aviation, which has already equipped two of its ACJ319s with the 2Ku system.
Gogo's Ku-band connectivity solution is available to operators of large private aircraft and to the commercial airline sector. The dual-antenna system enables passengers to stream video and browse the internet. It is compatible with newer high-throughput satellites as well as anticipated satellites, which Gogo says means the technology and user experience "can continue to improve without the need for invasive changes to the aircraft".
"Having access to the internet, plus being connected and available, is critical for passengers, and the demand for bandwidth will only increase," says Fokker Techniek director of sales Johan van Dorst.
