Safran has named its transmission systems chief, Helene Moreau-Leroy, to lead the integration of Zodiac Aerospace.
The appointment follows the European Commission's unconditional approval of the tie-up.
Safran says Moreau-Leroy will prepare Zodiac's integration which will be implemented following a public offering.
Tie-up talks between Safran and interiors specialist Zodiac emerged a year ago, as Zodiac was attempting to recover from a performance crisis.
The European Commission says both French companies are "significant" in the aeronautics markets but believes competition will "remain strong".
It found there would be no strong impact on competition in the aircraft electrical systems sector, and there were no concerns that the merged entity would be able to shut out competitors in other areas.
Moreau-Leroy will be succeeded at Safran Transmission Systems by Franck Saudo.
