German seat manufacturer Recaro plans to expand its headquarters next year.
The company says it has acquired land and buildings in its hometown of Schwabisch Hall, north of Stuttgart, as a part of a multimillion-euro programme dubbed "space2grow".
A first phase of construction is scheduled to begin in early 2019. Plans for subsequent stages will be finalised at that time, says Recaro.
The new site will include facilities for product development and testing as well as customer services, plus a staff canteen.
Chief executive Mark Hiller states that the investment "reflects a clear commitment to our Schwabisch Hall location and to the region".
Almost half of Recaro's 2,700 employees work at HQ, where, the company says, its "entire product development and of course a large part of production" takes place.
The manufacturer says it is targeting double-digit revenue growth this year, and that investment is being made to expand production sites in China and Poland.
