Israeli firm Tadiran Communications is in Paris showing why it is bucking the trend and expanding its business.

Just before the show, the firm announced a sharp surge in first quarter sales and net profits.

Chief executive Hezi Hermoni points to three factors. "First and foremost is our large-scale entry into computers, followed by sales of the new added value to our widely sold communications equipment," he says.

"Second, the successful conclusion of several development projects yielded new product launches. And, finally, our ongoing efficiency program helped boost overall profitability as well."

At Le Bourget, Tadiran is concentrating on combat-ready and combat-proven communication solutions for the dynamic digital battlefield.

Its stand (static park, stand 53) features key products, including its Integrated Radio Communication System (IRCS), based on military VoIP and RoIP technology, which combines military and civilian communication networks into one integrated system.

Also on display is a Ruggedised Personal Digital Assistant (RPDA) that provides pre- and in-flight data for the pilot; and its Air Traffic Control System (ATCS).
